QUEZON CITY – The Wish 107.5 Music Awards, held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum on January 26, 2015, surprised the crowd of wishers and music enthusiasts. It did not only recognize some of the country’s greatest talents but it also served as a night for charity. More than one million pesos was given to various charity institutions.
“This night is not just a simple awards night. This night is also a night of giving and a night of lending our hand to the needy,” said Mr. Public Service Kuya Daniel Razon, the Chairman and CEO of UNTV-BMPI. He is the man behind the innovations and public service advocacy of Wish FM 107.5.
Rarely does it happen that an award-giving body, especially a music awards, gives its awardees an opportunity to choose their charity institutions as beneficiaries for their prize money. Obviously, Kuya Daniel, being the pioneer of many firsts in the field of public service in the country, always has the advocacy of giving. “We wish for it (Wish FM) to be one that espouses an advocacy, bringing hope and positivity to the listeners by engraving to their minds the great feeling of performing acts of random kindness,” Razon expressed his thoughts on the partnersip with Wish FM.
WMA awarded P1.1 Million to charity organizations
Six charity organizations were awarded a total of P1.1 million during the WMA night. Each was chosen beneficiaries of the WMA winners on major award categories. Here are the lists of major award winners:
World Vision, the chosen beneficiary of Darren Espanto received P400,000 as he won four WMA major awards – Best WISHclusive Performance by a Young Artist for “Chandelier”, Wish Original Song of the Year for “Stuck”, Wish Ballad Song of the Year for “I Believe In Me,” and Wish Young Artist of the Year.
Food for the Hungry Philippines, Jayson Dy’s beneficiary received P300, 000 as he won three WMA major awards – Best WISHclusive Performance by a Male Artist for “Stay With Me/See You Again” mash-up, Wish Urban Song of the Year for “Milagro,” and Wish Male Artist of the Year.
Divine Mercy Mobile Center of Music and Arts Therapy was awarded P100, 000 as the vocal group 5th Gen was awarded as the Best WISHclusive Performance by a Group for their single “Contagious”.
Meanwhile, Wish 107.5 Music Awards also awarded P100, 000 to each beneficiaries of Yeng Constantino, Morissette Amon, and Sponge Cola, namely I Fight Against Human Trafficking, Home for the Angels, Sta. Ana Manila and Child Haus, respectively.
Yeng Constantino won the Best Wishclusive Performance by a Female Artist for “Ikaw”, while Morissette was declared as the Wish Female Artist of the Year, and Sponge Cola’s hit single “Move On” was hailed as the Wish Alternative Song of the Year.

Wish Up Coming Projects: the Wishing Walls and the Wishing Wells
Aside from granting their wishers’ wishes on radio, Wish FM will soon grant more wishes through their wishing walls and wishing wells.
“And of course in the coming days you will be seeing the Wishing Walls all around Metro Manila where you can write your wishes that would be spread all over Metro Manila and Mega Manila, as well as in some schools. So you will be seeing wishing walls where you can write all your wishes, and later on, we will be giving you the idea of how we will be coming out with a wishing well where all your wishes will be put there in the wishing well. And we will come up with top ten wishes, and we will be having also our monthly wish where you will be granting wishes ng ibat ibang tao all over the the place, “ proudly announced by Kuya Daniel Razon.
Kuya Daniel assured that there would be Wish 107.5 Music Awards yearly. “And this is just a beginning, another endeavor has unfolded right before your very eyes. This is the first, but with God’s help, we’re looking forward to the next Wish 107.5 Music Awards,” he said.
