QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Rizal High School (RHS), the largest secondary school in the world since 1993 until 2005, was one of the chosen beneficiaries of Kuya Daniel Razon’s special birthday concert for a cause “In the Eyes of a Child”, which was held at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on the night of November 23, 2015. It was concert for a cause for his celebration of his 32nd year of service to God and to the people.

RHS has been conducting a reading remediation for their students who are poor readers through Reading Intervention Program Enhancement (or RIPE). This program is an advocacy of RHS administration. It conducted every after their regular classes. Its main mission is to enhance their students’ reading and comprehension capacities to enable them to effectively and competitively cope with society’s expectations.

However, as the school administration strives to continue the program, the lack of reading materials became one of their main concerns. Fortunately, through the partnership of the Bible Readers Society (or BREAD) and UNTV Life who are also the primary food sponsors of the RHS RIPE’s project, Rizal High School was given the opportunity to be one of Kuya Daniel Razon’s chosen beneficiaries of his charity concert.

Kuya Daniel Razon, the UNTV’s CEO and multi-awarded broadcaster known as Mr. Public Service, awarded Rizal High School of one hundred thousand pesos worth of financial assistance for their reading materials needed to continue the program. It was given to RHS representative, Ms. Veronica Padua, the RHS OIC English Department during the concert.

Moreover, the BREAD Society, with a chapter inside the RSH, and UNTV Life, the Philippines’ Public Service channel, have long been committed as RHS RIPE’s sponsors. Both provides the food of the program’s participants twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday) until the school year ends. RHS BREAD chapter also conducts regular free public services within the school such as Brigada Eskwela and Libreng Gupit for students, which is conducted every last Friday of the month.

The night of the “In the Eyes of a Child” concert of Kuya Daniel Razon successfully culminated by fulfilling its main agenda of helping its chosen beneficiaries. Thus, several orphans, children with disabilities, and children welfare foundations were not only entertained through various child performers and icons performances but also received cash assistance from Kuya Daniel Razon.
