Manila, Philippines – During the Prayer Gathering at the Malacañan Palace Grounds on Monday (March 09, 2015), representatives from religious groups had been given the chance to asked significant questions with President Benigno S. Aquino III (PNoy) .
Brother Diosdado Cobin of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) was one of the Churches’ representatives who had the opportunity to ask the President.
” First of all, we thank God knowing that you’re one with us in believing the power of prayer. Now, having said that, will it be possible for you to issue a Presidential Decree or endorse to Congress a bill, which would be passed into law declaring a day in a year as a National Day of Prayer.” Bro. Cobin asked PNoy.
PNOY had expressed his support to MCGI’s proposition. However, he said he will have it reviewed first by the lawyers to make sure that it won’t be conflicting with any constitutional provisions.
” I think that’s possible ano. And there have been various proclamations by the President. Kaya lang po every year kailangan gawin yun as opposed to gawing permanente. I’m not a lawyer. I just have to pass it to the lawyers to make sure yung separation of Church and state, yung no recognition of a state religion and all of that are adhered to. Alam naman po n’yo itong mga araw na ito, yung kapag nagkulang yung comma, semi-colon, question mark na nailagay, period, o kung minsan baka mali yung papel na ginamit, maiisyu ho kami parati,” explained by President Aquino.
“Pero in principle, we agree with that. There has to be that deepening of man’s existence in the world, brought about by spirituality. So you can count on our support. We just… The Executive Secretary is present who is a lawyer, who is presently now drafting in his mind exactly how it will adhere to all the constitutional provisions,” he added.
MCGI 24/7 Community Prayer
Bro. Eliseo Soriano, Servant to all Members Church of God International, has always been encouraging, not only the MCGI but also the non-MCGI, to pray concerning all men as commanded by God. “Let us pray, and let us pray for the world, for the brotherhood, for the earth, and for all people,” Bro. Eli expressed in one of the MCGI’s special gatherings.
The MCGI, for their devotion in obeying God’s commandment, has its exclusive 24/7 Community Prayer with an hourly community prayer and singing of praises to God. Subsequently to MCGI’s exclusive community prayer, Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel Razon had launched a UNTV Community Prayer, a scheduled prayer, which enables the non-members to join them in praying.
